Propr
on Mac.

Propr trades in a browser, on its Trading Terminal. If you’d rather trade your challenge from a Mac app, Propr lets you create an API key that lets one connect. Here’s how that works, where the prices come from, and the rules that come with it.

The short answer

Propr’s platform
The Trading Terminal at app.propr.xyz, in a browser. Propr’s roadmap lists a mobile app as planned.
Mac app
None from Propr. Other apps connect through Propr’s API.
From a Mac app
With an API key from Propr’s Settings. Propr’s rules list no monthly, data, or platform fees. Lightwick connects this way.
Markets
Hyperliquid perpetuals: crypto, equities, indices, commodities, and FX. Propr says every account, funded ones included, is simulated.

Propr in a browser

Propr’s Trading Terminal runs in your browser at app.propr.xyz, and it’s the simplest way to trade a Propr account on a Mac. A few things about how Propr works shape any setup.

Simulated accounts

Propr says every account, funded ones included, is simulated. Orders fill against Hyperliquid’s real order book, and Propr decides separately whether to copy a trade to Hyperliquid itself.

Hyperliquid perps

Every perpetual on Hyperliquid is eligible, from Bitcoin to equities, indices, commodities, and FX. Propr’s FAQ asks for more than $1M in open interest. Stocks and commodities carry an xyz: prefix, as in xyz:NVDA.

Days run on UTC

Your daily loss limit resets at 00:00 UTC and is measured on equity, open positions included. Propr publishes no minimum number of trading days.

Create a Propr API key

Any app that trades your Propr account, Lightwick included, needs an API key. It takes a minute:

  1. Open the Trading Terminal

Sign in at app.propr.xyz with the account that holds your challenge.

  2. Generate a key in Settings

Live keys begin with pk_live_. Propr gives you one key at a time; if it leaks, generate a new one from the same place.

  3. Keep it like a password

Propr says a key has full account access: orders, positions, and trades. Anyone holding it can trade your account.

Propr also runs a Beta environment at app.beta.propr.xyz, where everything is simulated for testing. Its keys begin with pk_beta_, and Lightwick connects to it too.

Where the prices come from

Propr serves no prices of its own. It says all pricing, order book data, and price oracles come directly from Hyperliquid, with no markup. So an app that trades Propr makes two connections: Propr for your account and orders, and Hyperliquid for prices. Hyperliquid’s market data is public and needs no account, wallet, or key.

  • Propr’s numbers count. Propr computes your fills, profit and loss, and rule breaches on its own copy of Hyperliquid’s book, so figures in any outside app can differ slightly from Propr’s.
  • Funding applies. Hyperliquid perps pay or charge funding every hour, and Propr credits or deducts it from your account automatically.
  • History is recent. Hyperliquid serves the latest 5,000 candles of each timeframe: about 3.5 days of 1-minute bars, 17 days of 5-minute bars, and 7 months of hourly bars. Daily history is complete.

The rules that come with it

  • Automation is allowed. Propr permits bots and automated trading, but may restrict them if their frequency or volume affects the platform, and may flag unmodified off-the-shelf bots as coordinated trading.
  • Third-party apps are your call. Propr’s terms say it takes no responsibility for third-party software you use with your account. Propr’s own figures and limits decide every challenge.
  • Copying between your own accounts. Propr’s rules page permits copy trading, but its terms and FAQ prohibit identical or mirrored trades across accounts you control. Check with Propr before copying between Propr accounts.
  • Hedging stays inside one account. A long and a short in the same account is fine. Opposite positions across your accounts, or against another exchange, are prohibited.
  • VPNs are allowed. Your KYC has to match your actual country of residence, and using a VPN from a restricted country ends the account.
  • Also prohibited: latency arbitrage and tick sniping, account sharing or selling, account cycling, and wash trading. News trading is allowed.

Propr in Lightwick

Lightwick connects to Propr and Hyperliquid directly from your Mac. No Lightwick server sits in between, and your API key is stored in the macOS Keychain.

  1. Choose Propr on Lightwick’s sign-in screen, or later from the Connection menu.
  2. Pick Live or Beta and paste the key for that environment. A Beta connection is marked BETA throughout the app.
  3. Select your challenge. Each active challenge is its own account, named after the challenge and phase with the last four characters of its ID.
  4. Or choose Market Data Only to watch Hyperliquid’s markets with no key or Propr account. Add a key later and your watchlist and charts carry over.

What works

Charts, watchlists, and price alerts; a DOM with market depth; footprint charts in coins; a perp ticket where you pick Buy / Long or Sell / Short, size in dollars or coins, set cross or isolated margin and leverage within Propr’s limit, and see an estimated liquidation price before you send; up to four stops and four targets per order, each set by dollars or by price; funding, open interest, and the mark in the chart header; and a Challenge panel with your profit target, daily loss, and drawdown.

What’s different

Propr can hold a long and a short in one market; Lightwick shows one net position, so an order bigger than your position asks you to exit first instead of reversing. Propr has no order modify, so moving a stop or target places the new one and then cancels the old. The Challenge panel estimates your limits from your live balance; Propr’s own measure is the one it enforces. Funded accounts aren’t listed yet.

Propr lists no fee for API access, and Lightwick is free during beta. If you also trade futures at another firm, Lightwick connects to that too; see Rithmic on Mac, TopstepX on Mac, and the Propr setup guide.

Common questions

Do I need a Hyperliquid account or wallet?

Not to trade. Propr’s accounts are simulated, and Hyperliquid’s market data is public, so Lightwick reads prices without an account, wallet, or key. Propr pays out in USDC on-chain, so you link a wallet when you request a payout.

Does Propr charge for API access?

Propr lists no price for it, and its rules say there are no monthly, data, platform, or withdrawal fees. You do need a Propr account to trade, which comes with the challenge you buy.

Can I trade my funded Propr account in Lightwick?

Not yet. Propr’s API lists funded accounts separately from challenges, and Lightwick connects your active challenges today. Keep trading a funded account in Propr’s Trading Terminal.

Can I copy trades between my Propr accounts?

Check with Propr first. Its rules page permits copy trading, but its terms list running identical or mirrored trades across accounts you control as prohibited, and its FAQ says the same. Copying from an outside account into a single Propr account is allowed.
